With over 12 years of teaching experience at university, public and private schools, Stinar specializes in operatic and musical theater techniques for singers, actors and dancers.  Stinar's methodology combines the best that "speech level singing" and the classical "bel canto" singing techniques have to offer.  Through his voice studio in Denver, he offers private singing lessons, master classes, and recitals. Stinar  strives to realize each student's full vocal and artistic potential as a unique singer and actor. Stinar's students have been accepted to prominent music schools and summer programs across the country and they have developed successful careers having performed from Broadway to the regional stages.  Recently one of Stinar's students was even nominated for a Grammy.  Stinar's former students are now attending such prestigious schools as the San Francisco Conservatory, NYU (Tisch and Cap21), Berkley School of Music, Boston Conservatory, the New England Conservatory, Point Park University, CU Boulder, University of the Arts, AMDA, & the University of Oklahoma.

Brian Stinar has sung over 25 leading roles nationwide including Rodolfo in La Bohème, Roméo in Roméo et Juliette, Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly, and Gounod's Faust. His most recent appearances have included roles of Alfredo in La Traviata and Tamino in Die Zauberflote with Oklahoma Opera Theater, Don José in Carmen with Opera Theater of the Rockies, Canio in I Pagliacci and Manrico in Il Trovatore with Opera Fort Collins, Rossini's Stabat Mater with the Greeley Chorale, Verdi's Requiem with the Arapahoe Philharmonic, and the role of Don José in Opera Idaho's production of Carmen. Stinar is an Artist in Residence with Denver School of the Arts and holds his Master's degree from the University of Oklahoma where he is a Hoving and Benton-Schmidt Scholar and studied in the studio of Salvatore Champagne. The Pikes Peak Arts Council recently awarded Stinar the "2006 Best Solo Classical Music Performance" for his role as Calaf in Turandot with the Opera Theatre of the Rockies.
